When people talk about the services we offer at our one-stop extrusion shop, they often talk about how well we can do custom metal extrusion and manufacturing. Our Massachusetts building has a lot of different services that you can choose from. We’re proud of the ones we can provide for our clients. Our skills in making things out of metal are much better than those of our local rivals. Other facilities “send out” additional tasks for aluminum extrusion, like CNC manufacturing, to outside services, but we do them ourselves. It takes longer and costs the business more money to do this.
At Silver City Aluminum, we like to keep everything in-house so that we can make sure that every part, product, or component we make is of high quality from start to finish. Our manufacturing department can make anything our clients need for any part of the planning process so they can reach their goals. From the first sales call to shipping and delivery, everyone on our team is dedicated to providing the best possible service. We work hard to give our customers a finished product that goes above and beyond what they expected so they can get the most out of their money.
Fabrication Services in Massachusetts
As normal procedure, we de-burr all of our machined parts. This is one of the many things that makes our services different from those of our rivals. Other places that do molding and manufacturing charge extra for this service. First, we do all the secondary processes for aluminum extrusion, like punching, mitering, cutting, sawing, and other types of manufacturing. Then, we do deburring. This is done to get rid of any little burrs that might have been left over from the last step of the job. Our dedication to quality control is shown by the care we take with every detail to make sure the client is happy with the final result.
Our team uses vibration deburring to make the work look smooth and finished. It works great for lots of jobs because it has a big, fully automatic blender with porcelain media inside. Vibration and movement of the parts around the encasement area remove any burrs from them. This process does not damage or scratch the materials. Like vibration deburring, the tumbler method spins the parts around in a circle 360 degrees for a set amount of time to get rid of the burrs. Twister deburring doesn’t scratch or hurt the materials either, just like vibration deburring.
CNC Manufacturing & Secondary Operations
At Silver City Aluminum, we can make parts that are up to 30 feet long. Our high-speed Emmegi CNC tools are used to work on these long extrusions. They have a 4+1 controlled axis that lets the spindle be controlled constantly in the range of 0 to 180 degrees. We also have angle cutting heads that work on all five sides of a part to make sure the results are uniform and professional. Based on what each client needs, these tools can drill, machine, and tap with very tight limits. We’re proud of our ability to make things out of aluminum, which helps us meet or beat our clients’ standards for quality metal extrusion and fabrication.
With our high-speed Fanuc Robo Drill units, our techs can make short items just a quarter of an inch long or up to 27 inches long. With a 3-axis high-speed system, these machines can make things with very tight specs and always give the same results. We offer punching services, and our team is especially good at making unique gas and hydraulic punches. We can make unique punches for work with a low or high number, and we make sure that every order meets the highest quality and consistency standards.
We use two state-of-the-art precise saws from B&O to finish cutting our metal extrusion and fabrication jobs. Our team can work with pieces that are as little as a quarter of an inch long or as long as 240 inches. We can also miter parts 22.5% to 135% of the way around on parts that are 13.75 inches to 19 feet and 8 inches long.
