When you work with Silver City Aluminum for professional extrusion and fabrication services, you can expect to receive top-quality service, support, and incredible lead times at our Southeastern Massachusetts facility. We do everything in-house, from the initial design and development of parts, products, and components for our clients all the way through extrusion, fabrication, finishing, and shipping to ensure quality aluminum extrusion results. Whether you want standard hollow aluminum tubes or something more complex and custom, you can count on our team of highly trained and experienced engineers and technicians to help you achieve your goals.
Why We Do It All In-House
You might wonder why we don’t send out extruded parts to be fabricated and finished prior to shipping. Our goal is to provide superior custom aluminum products that exceed expectations. Even when partnering with a high-quality fabrication or finishing service, we cannot guarantee that level of quality when it leaves our facility. We keep everything in-house under the watchful eye of our technicians, who inspect each piece at various stages throughout production to ensure the best possible results. We take pride in our ability to get fully involved in the design process for every project we produce. It also helps us improve quality control and provide exceptional customer service at the same time.
We are very proud of our lead times. Compared to the industry standard, which is between 30-45 days from the date that the order is placed until it is delivered to the client, our lead times are outstanding! Our standard lead time at Silver City Aluminum is three to four weeks maximum. We have even been known to do special orders for clients on an emergency basis, producing orders and delivering them within just three days to a week. We go above and beyond to exceed expectations and ensure quality aluminum extrusion for every order we fill. Our team is committed to turning out one stop shop fabrication and extrusion that goes above and beyond the industry standard.
Custom Extrusion and Fabrication Services
We purchase the aluminum billet that we use for extrusion and fabrication services from several different suppliers. It is made from 99.9 percent recyclable aluminum. Once we receive the billet, we cut the long lengths into the proper size to minimize scrap based on the length and weight of the client profile. We pre-heat the billets in one of our long ovens before they get to the extrusion press. A specific temperature is required for proper extrusion. We push the metal through the standard or custom die using 10,000,000 pounds of pressure to create the exact shape that our client requires. Once the extrusion process is complete, additional fabrication and finishing services may be applied.
At Silver City Aluminum, all of the components in our extrusion line and the machinery used for CNC fabrication and other secondary operations are top of the line. Many of our systems are fully integrated and automated, using the advancement of PLC control technology. This helps us to determine how the machine is functioning, the rate of speed, the extrusion recipe, and all other essential variables to provide consistent and dependable quality control. Our fabrication department has the unique ability to custom fabricate just about any part that our clients require, and we hold ourselves to the highest quality standards. Even our finishing and shipping departments go above and beyond to ensure perfection in everything that we do.
